Internship Readiness

The first skill I want to display on my internship is the ability to work well with others even though I may not get along with them on a social level. I think by displaying the skill I show my manager that I can corporate with co-workers and complete the assignment given to me. Questions that come to my mind first when I think of internship are very simple. I would like to know, if my job duties are the same or are they going to change depending on who will be there? Jobs that I have had in the past often my job duties change because someone isn’t there or they just have something different for me to do. The type of environment I hoping that I get to work in is some a place where we work on computers rather it be imaging or replacing computer parts. I would like for the office to have some excitement going on so we enjoy ourselves while getting the work done. Managers that I work well under are bosses who are open to sharing feedback and understanding to us as interns. The hard skills that I’m striving to learn on internship is other ways to image computers and to understand enough so I can teach someone else about. I plan to stand out by engaging in conversations and selling my self without going over board. After internship I plan to go to college and get a degree.

Blogpost Three: Shopping

Today my mom took me shopping at Ross and Burlington Coat Factory. I wanted to get more professional clothes and I did so. The stores were really crowed and a lot of the clothes were gone but fortunately I was able to get the clothing that I wanted. Another plus about it was that every I bought was on sale so I didn't spend as much money as I intended to. Tomorrow and for the rest of the program I am going to where these out fits because when i get new clothes I feel regenerated.

Blogpost Two: Ghostprotocol

On Sataurday I went to see the new Mission Impossible movie with two of my friends it was fun. I didn't see the first two Mission Impossibles but I heard this was the best one. It had a lot of funny scenes about it and what I liked most was how he would escape from the Russians when he would caught. I also like the twist at the end and how the story was concluded. After the movies we went to the pier, walked around and took pictures and watched the side shows. I do not really have time to get out as much anymore sence year up but when I did I enjoyed myself with friends.

Blog Entry One:Christmas

This year for Christmas I went to church and came home to watch all the NBA games. I wasn't sure if they would have a season sense it was a lock out. I got to see my favorite team, the Miami Heat get redemption to the terrible lost we had last year in the championships. I also received a video game, Out fit and a camcorder. The game I got was Saints Row the third and I love playing it. I haven't stopped playing it for the past five days now. My mom tells me to stop playing it all the time. The out fit I got from my mom was very thoughtful I thought because she bought something that was my style and what I like to where. For the last gift I'm not sure what I am going to do with it because I never video record anything, not even on my phone. I like the fact that I received something because I was thought of.

Internship Readiness

For this module I plan to improve on the characteristics I haven't displayed. My evaluation said that I needed to stop side talking and participate more in class. At times I tend to not pay attention when I'm not engaging in the disscusion that is happening in class which is where I began to joke and side talk. I have sat down and made a plan on asking questions when I am unclear about something in class. I also plan to work on slant so I will appear engaged in the instructor is presenting at the time. One thing I noticed about my growth areas is that at times when I'm not engaged in the conversations it can come off as I don't care about what they have to say and that is not the impression

My best work experience

The best job I had was when I worked with the community of opportunities. Every day we had a different job assignment and every job we did was based on getting the community involved. I had one other person I worked who had a very difference in opinion than I did and I was very weird. The problem of us having a difference in the way we viewed life was really simple, I wanted to be rich and he really didn’t care for famous people and expensive cars. We did good work together and it slightly over shadowed what we worked on so it wasn't bad. Our bosses like the way we showed up to work on time and did every thing we were asked to do and sometimes more. We had two main bosses Mr. Green and Mr. Angelou. They had very different personalities Mr. Green was a retried war vetran who had a very distinctive way of communicating something to us. He would tell us stories about war and his experiences in other countries. Mr. Angelou was a family man who would sometimes bring his children by the office. What I can say about both of the is that enjoyed having us as employees around the office. The job lasted through the summer of 2009, the fact that is seemed to go by so fast was a little discouraging. For the final week of us working on the job they took us out to eat and bought us really nice suits. The suits they gave us were about $500 a piece and that was a discount to what they really would have costed. In conclusion, the job taught me to get along with people and make it work when it seems that it may not.

Occupy and Great Depression

I think the image is a direct match to what is going on because of the economic situation. In the middle the image shows a man in black standing over all the bodies and in every political movement you see a group of cops standing over the minorities. At the bottom of the picture I see another picture of someone (in black) standing in front of people as if he is guarding them. In a symbol, I see this as how every time there is a revolution the people with power tend to hide behind the police and bars that keep the minorities away from them. Those people in my eyes are seen as cowards because the people who are protesting and dying are the ones who have the heart to speak out about what they feel and the people with power don't seem to meet the needs of the protestors. The fact the people have power and they do unethical things with it shows that the government is corrupt.
